More Innovative Ideas From Diamond Logix®
Tuesday, July 13, 2010
Diamond® Cabinets Expands Logix® Product Line With More Organization Options, More Design Flexibility, More Everyday Solutions Innovative organization ideas just keep coming from Diamond Logix®. With the addition of seven new cabinetry products, Diamond Cabinets builds on the success of its designer-friendly Logix line with more organization options, more design flexibility and more everyday cabinetry solutions for the kitchen, bath and rooms throughout the home. "This year we've added next generation solutions to our Diamond Logix line, breathed new life into some of our most popular organization solutions and incorporated even more fresh ides into our cabinetry. All of the new products can help designers create spaces that allow homeowners to better organize their homes - and their lives," said Cathy Hitz, brand manager for Diamond Cabinets. More organization options Diamond Logix builds on its successful drop-zone concept with two new utility cabinets that provide reserved parking spaces for all the extra "stuff " that life throws at us: car keys, cell phones, backpacks and such. The Utility Drop Zone Cabinet, at 24-inches deep and in heights ranging from 84 to 96 inches, organizes the things homeowners don't want loitering on countertops. Four shelves provide storage for various what-have-yous, while a pull-out charging station takes care of small electronic devices. A back-of-door magnetic whiteboard and pencil holder offers a place to jot down messages and help everyone keep track of who's going where. Meanwhile the new 9-inch deep Utility Organizer Drop-Zone Cabinet offers a similar version, which is designed to be used at the end of a cabinet run. It features a charging station, key hooks and coat hooks, plus open space to accommodate anything from a tote bag to a light jacket to dog leashes, plus enough floor space to stash a bag of pet food and treats. More design flexibility Diamond makes modular systems more flexible than ever with the new EasyTraxTM Cabinet, a new sliding shelving system that allows users to rotate up to five trays along a heavy-duty ladder system -without the hassle of pulling out a toolbox. The cabinet has five quickly movable, easily manageable sliding trays that can be quickly changed into one-, two-, three-, four- or even five-shelf combinations at varying heights, making it possible to tuck away anything from tall blenders and bulk-sized soda bottles to small food cans and packages. Every shelving combination offers easy accessibility, increased visibility and incredibly flexible capacity. The EasyTrax is available in standard height base, full-height base, or utility cabinet configurations and the SoftClose anti-slamming mechanism comes standard. More everyday solutions Leave it to Diamond to transform take-it-for-granted staples of kitchen functionality into modern storage must-haves. The 2-Drawer Wall Unit With Tiered Drawer Inserts offers the perfect solution for storing small items such as spice jars or medications. It is also available as a combination cabinet with a name that says it all: the Wall Cabinet with 2 Drawer Unit Below and Tiered Drawer Inserts. Another everyday storage wonder is the Wall Spice Pullout. At just 9 or 12 inches wide, its fives shelves with side racks are perfect for small-to-tall jars and bottles. And for a really out-of-sight solution, Diamond adds the Base Recycling Unit, which holds and hides four 27-quart removable bins for recyclable papers, jars, glass and plastic items. This addition complements Diamond's existing Corner Recycling Unit to meet the growing trend toward consumers living greener lifestyles. Diamond® Cabinets Recognized For Outstanding Design Innovation
Tuesday, July 13, 2010
Esteemed 2010 ADEX Awards Bestow Cabinetry Design With Two Platinum Awards For the sixth consecutive year, Diamond® Cabinets receives recognition from the revered ADEX Awards for excellence in product design. The company received the highest honor, the Platinum ADEX Award, for Design Excellence for two cabinets: the Base Corner Pullout Cabinet, updated with new swing out hardware in 2009 and the Solid Wood Tiered Cutlery Divider. Diamond also received the Silver ADEX Award for its Utility Storage Cabinet with Pot & Pan Pullout. All of the award-winning cabinets are part of Diamond LogixTM, an organization system consistently acknowledged for innovative design, that defines useful spaces within otherwise cluttered cabinets. Sponsored by Design Journal, the international trade publication for interior designers, ADEX is the largest and most prestigious awards program for the design of furniture, fixtures and finishes marketed to the design trade. Diamond has received ADEX awards for the last six consecutive years for innovative cabinetry design, including the Gold award in 2009 for its Vanity Cosmetic Cabinet. After being recognized for kitchen cabinets for the first several years, Diamond proved its design innovations extend beyond the kitchen by receiving accolades for cabinets specific to the bath in 2008 and 2009. "No matter how stylish your kitchen or bath, a cluttered room detracts from its beauty. Diamond carves useful space into every inch of your cabinets. The clever designs that make up our Logix cabinets put everyday clutter out of sight, but not out of reach," said Cathy Hitz, group brand manager, Diamond Cabinets. "We are honored that our attention to the common, but often overlooked, needs of homeowners receives accolades year after year in the Design Journal's ADEX Awards." Award-Winning Cabinets Even if certain small appliances, cooking supplies or dishes are only used once a year, you shouldn't be challenged to disassemble your cabinets every time those occasions arise. The Base Corner Pullout with new Swing-out Hardware turns low-visibility corner areas into high-usability storage zones. The cabinet's four wooden shelves with chrome rails swing out, giving you easy access to your least-used items. Why use two drawers to separate cutlery when one will do? The Solid Wood Tiered Cutlery Divider is a convenient solution for organizing cutlery. The two-tiered design lets you store more flatware in a standard-size cabinet drawer - just slide the top tier back and forth for easy access to items. Kitchen aficionados with stockpiles of pots and pans will be adequately prepared with the Utility Storage Cabinet with Pot & Pan Pullout. This innovative pull-out pantry features both a pot and pan rack and full extension pantry pullout within one cabinet. It has four plywood shelves with chrome rails to keep everything in its place as it extends out. About Diamond Cabinets Diamond Cabinets is a division of MasterBrand Cabinets Inc., the second-largest cabinet manufacturer in North America. Diamond Cabinets holds certifications from the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association's Environmental Stewardship Program and the Arthritis Foundation's Ease-of-Use program. Diamond® Cabinets Help Country Home Editor Get Organized
Tuesday, August 19, 2008
Ohio Designer Debbie Martin Revamps Kitchen Featured in National Magazine JASPER, Ind. - In the September issue of Country Home magazine, Senior Home Design Editor Kathy Barnes describes organization as a "must-have" in the redesign of her cramped kitchen. Diamond Cabinets, with a reputation for making rooms as functional as they are beautiful, was ready to help. "When you live in a small house, your cabinetry needs to pull its weight, so we enlisted the help of the storage innovators at Diamond," Barnes wrote in the magazine on newsstands nationwide. "Behind nearly every drawer and door we found smart ways to deal with our everyday stuff." Debbie Martin, lead designer at The Design Center in North Lima, Ohio, helped a family of five conquer clutter with plenty of pull-outs, drawers and recycling bins. "Since organization was a key focal point in this design, I really took advantage of Diamond's LogixT cabinets," Martin said. "The kitchen boasts niche storage spaces like a Toe-Kick Drawer to utilize every inch of space; a Wall Message Center to stow daily essentials at the end of a cabinetry run; and a versatile SuperCabinetT - all of which make organizing the kitchen a snap." Of course, even with fabulous organization elements on the inside of the cabinets, the Barnes family wanted an eye-catching kitchen. For that, they chose Diamond's Montgomery door style in Pearl paint. The soft shade gives the kitchen a fresh, country look, but still comes off as sleek and current, thanks to stainless steel appliances and contemporary cabinetry hardware. The Barnes family was ecstatic with the results. "It's just the remedy we needed," Barnes wrote. Diamond® Cabinets Kitchen Remodel on the Pages of Cooking with Paula Deen
Monday, August 25, 2008
Diamond helps Inez and Oliver Norton create dream kitchen after 46-year wait JASPER, Ind.- When the editors of Cooking with Paula Deen came knocking on the door of Diamond® Cabinets looking for assistance with a kitchen remodel, Diamond was delighted to jump in and help-especially after hearing the story of homeowners Inez and Oliver Norton. Inez spent 46 years cooking in the same kitchen and from a simple request for a new oven, stemmed a three-room remodel with the kitchen as the center of attention. Diamond outfitted the Norton's kitchen with the Maple Selena door style in a striking Toasted Almond finish. The cliché "drab to fab" never stood truer than when Inez's dark, outdated cabinets were shamelessly ripped out and replaced with the bright, light-colored Diamond cabinets. Diamond also incorporated its popular LogixT organization system into the kitchen by giving Inez a SuperCabinetT, two Toekick Drawers and a Segmented Super Susan, among other things. The kitchen was completed with a wall of cabinets exclusively for the organization of Inez's crafts materials. "Diamond was excited to help the Nortons incorporate little modern luxuries into their desired kitchen," said Emily Small, group brand manager, Diamond Cabinets. "Inez truly deserved a space that was inviting to not only friends and family, but most importantly, herself." The kitchen looked so good that the Nortons couldn't stop there. They went on to remodel their living and dining rooms to match the welcoming ambience that was so apparent in the kitchen. The amazing transformation is beautifully captured on the pages of the May/June issue of Cooking with Paula Deen. You can also view the Diamond remodel online at www.pauladeenmagazine.com. The 46-page handbook, "Organize Your Home: The Logix-cal Way" features a forward edited by organization expert Julie Morgenstern and offers solutions for organizing kitchens, baths and other spaces throughout the home, along with strategies to help consumers get started, beautiful photography to spark ideas, and detailed information on product benefits and features. "Our new designer handbook is a great way to showcase the innovation behind the Diamond LogixTM line and bring it to life for consumers through one of the most powerful and influential delivery channels we have - our valued Diamond dealers and designers," says Emily Small, group brand manager. The handbook will be launched in March 2008 at select Diamond dealerships nationwide. Thereafter, it will be available at the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show April 11-13 in Chicago. Ideas to organize one's home - and life The handbook's introduction sets the tone for readers with advice from Julie Morgenstern, author of the book, "Organizing From the Inside Out," whose own kitchen makeover using Diamond Cabinets is detailed in the handbook: "When I moved into a great new apartment in Manhattan with a very tiny kitchen, I felt inspired to do something with my own space," Morgenstern said. "Combining sound organization principles - such as thinking in zones - with smart solutions from Diamond Cabinets, I created a room that works with my natural style. Throughout this easy-to-use book, you'll be amazed at what great cabinetry can do to bring better organization to your home - and life." The handbook follows with sections offering ideas for creating organized, beautiful spaces in the kitchen, bath and home office using Diamond Logix cabinets. Suggestions cover a wide range of topics such as carving out storage for bulk grocery items using the SuperCabinetTM; minimizing countertop clutter with the Mini Message Center; organizing bathroom toiletries and linens with the Vanity Linen Closet Cabinet; and creating a work zone in any room using components such as the Desk File Drawer Base and CPU computer base. In addition to providing organization tips, the handbook offers cabinet solutions that provide greater flexibility, accessibility and visibility - ease-of-use features that are important to many homeowners, but that are especially meaningful to the more than 45 million Americans who have arthritis and chronic joint symptoms. For example, several Arthritis Foundation-approved products are detailed in the handbook, such as the Segmented Super Susan which cuts down on bending and kneeling, and the Wall Easy Access Cabinet, which eliminates the need for contort the body in order to grasp stored items. Bringing out the beauty of an organized home The handbook includes a design style section offering an overview of the many Diamond door styles. Personalization upgrades. Woods, finishes and glazes, glass door options and cabinet hardware. It concludes with a home organization checklist so customers can prioritize organization projects; a "home personality" quiz to help identify desired cabinet functions to aid in product selection; and a resource guide providing additional information on every product in the book. "Our new handbook illustrates the amazing lengths that we go to in designing cabinets for the way people really live," said Neil Lynch, executive vice president of marketing and strategic planning for MasterBrand Cabinets Inc., the parent company of Diamond Cabinets. "Diamond Reflections Cabinetry was thrilled that Kristan Cunningham chose to use our cabinets as part of the home office remodel on today's Rachael Ray show," said Emily Small, group brand manager for Diamond Cabinets.
